What do you know about lechón and craft beer?

Now that the turkey days are over, it’s time to move on to another animal. On Sunday, December 4 from 1 PM – 4 PM, Joshua Lurie, the man behind the L.A. Beer Float Showdown is back with another event. Except this time he’s substituting the ice cream for a lechón, a whole Filipino-style roast pig. Pig & Pints will be hosted at Biergarten in Los Angeles’ Koreatown.

The $30 single person admission (including tax and tip) will get attendees two Southern California beers on tap. Ballast Point Sculpin IPA from a brewery based in San Diego and Lost Abbey Red Barn from a brewery based in San Marcos. “Red Barn is a saison brewed by a man who speaks in the third person, Tomme Arthur, aka The Tomme. That says a lot about his self-confidence level, and his abilities in the brewhouse, as attendees will see,” Joshua explains.

The roast pig will be prepared by Neri’s Curbside Cravings plus seasonal sides from Biergarten executive chef Eddie Hah. For a sweet ending, ice cream provided by Scoops founder Tai Kim using beer for desserts.

Joshua tells us that the event will be “low-key precursor to the holiday rush, combining some of the best things to eat and drink, including pork, beer and ice cream.”
