LeKa, from the owners of Wokcano, in downtown Los Angeles announced the addition of Chef David Feau [formerly of The Royce in Pasadena, CA] earlier this summer and we finally got the chance to see and taste what he had in store. LeKa is nestled in the high rises of DTLA off 6th Street hidden within concrete walls. This grandiose restaurant boasts not only of a beautiful interior, but also delicate dining to match. The current menu is everchanging and as Chef de Cuisine Tony Tea tells us, there are more progressive changes to come.
The menu includes an array of appetizers, pizza, charcuterie, entrees and dessert. Appetizers include the colorful TOMATO SALAD WITH HEIRLOOM, CONFIT OF TOMATO, FRIED GREEN TOMATO, BASIL RICOTTA, BACON VINAIGRETTE to the MARROW WITH GARLIC FLAN, PICKLED SHALLOTS to the SEARED DIVER SCALLOP, POTATO EMULSION, LEMON CONFIT, AND CINNAMON JUS.
While entree selections include SALMON, ROASTED CAULIFLOWER, ROMESCO, AND PICKLED PLUM to the DUCK WITH PARSNIP PUREE, BRAISED CABBAGE, ENDIVE, AND SPICED LACQUER to the LAMB WITH CREAMY SEMOLINA, BRAISED AND FRIED RAPINI.
Of course who can forget dessert like the CHOCOLATE CREMEUX WITH PASSION FRUIT – RUM SAUCE, COCOA CRUMBLE, AND SESAME BRITTLE to the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE WITH LEMON CAKE,CRÈME FRAICHE, AND CANDIED HAZELNUTS. Also available is an extensive wine list to coat your palatte as wine pairings are available.
