Ancient Rome was the perfect setting for food fans to indulge at Bon Appetit’s 6th annual Vegas Uncork’d and the feature event, the Grand Tasting. Set at the Caesars Palace pool, 50 of the nations’ top chefs and 30 sommeliers represented 60 restaurants serving everything from foie mousse to pork cheek yakitori, as well as do-it-yourself gin and tonics to lychee martinis.
The Grand Tasting drew over 3,000 guests to the Caesars’ pool on a warm desert night to not only enjoy the spectacular food, but also the company of the Michelin rated and celebrity chefs in attendance, like Nobu Matsuhisha, Gordon Ramsay, and Hubert Keller. Chef were found either hunkered down with their team, taking pictures with fans, or just enjoying the company of fellow chefs.
This event accomplished what it does every year, and that is to host one of the biggest (and best catered) events on the Las Vegas social calendar. It gave fans from across the country the opportunity to meet and greet with some of the most iconic and masterful chefs in the country. One of the features of this showcase was the guest ranking of sliders, acting as a real time foodie forum. Attendants waxed intellectually over the simplistic complexity of Guy Savoy’s offering of buttery mushroom brioche, spring pea custard, and pea soup to Holstein’s Pork Belly Sliders. 3570 Las Vegas Boulevard South Las Vegas, NV 89109
