Hello World, a pale ale, is what Haven Gastropub +Brewery‘s brewmaster David Larsen and his team has named their first beer ever to be served to the public. The brew is named after a simple programming syntax which people use to learn computer programming. In essence, “Hello, World” interprets the first time a computer program is successful in execution in it’s most basic form. For David, it’s the first time Haven guests will have the chance to taste his brews. He describes the newly brewed pale ale as an easy drinking beer with a nice hop bite.
More brews in queue
“Batch one has 7% ABV with a beautiful orange-ish red color. It tastes awesome,” David says. This former homebrewer created the first batch with primitiveness on his mind, “When you do a test batch, you want to do something simple. This is the winner of what I’ve always made at home.” Hello World is just the first of many. He also has a double IPA in the fermenter for the hop lovers and an Imperial Stout which he plans to put in barrels in the next three to four weeks.
The pale ale is now (March 28) on tap at Haven’s Pasadena location. And as for the future, David’s plan is to participate in the Great American Beer Festival, a three-day event showcasing breweries from all over the U.S., and hopefully win some awards. 42 South De Lacey Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105. 626-768-9555.
