Here is chance to taste a beer that’s no longer in production. The Thomas Hardy’s Ale, an English style barleywine, will be poured at Pasadena‘s Lucky Baldwins‘ Thomas Hardy’s Ale Vertical Tasting on Wednesday, March 7 starting at 7 PM. Six different version (1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008) of the beer will be available from the bottle during the tasting. This beer was first brewed in 1968 by a brewery called Eldridge Pope and discontinued in 1999. In 2003, another English brewery, O’Hanlon’s Brewing Co., took on the task of recreating the beer. However, being too costly to brew, O’Hanlon’s Brewing Co. discontinued it in 2008. 17 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105. 626-795-0652.
