If you think Valentine’s Day will leave a bitter flavor in your mouth this year, be sure to celebrate it’s passing with more bitterness at the Library Alehouse in Santa Monica, where they will be showcasing bitter beers from the L.A. and O.C. area in what they call “HopHead Heaven“. The kick-off event dubbed “Local Bitterness” on February 15 will exhibit at least 14 beers and feature a menu of street tacos flavorful enough to pair with these hop-filled beverages. Beers include (subject to change): Eagle Rock Populist, Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich, Bootlegger’s Eliminator, Bootlegger’s IPA (not yet named), El Segundo White Dog, El Segundo Blue House Citra Pale, Smog City IPA, Ladyface IPA, Ladyface Chesebro (CASK), Golden Road Either Side of the Hill, Beachwood Thrill Seeker, Strand (TBD), Cismontane (TBD), Hangar 24 Double IPA.
