Public House: Poutine with Duck Confit

Executive Chef Anthony Meidenbauer and restaurateur Billy Richardson‘s vision for Public House at the Venetian Las Vegas Casino, Hotel & Resort is to refine the American gastropub with a lot of beers, over 200, and food to compliment them. The beers are curated by Nevada’s only Certified Cicerone, Russell Gardner. Public House’s Poutine is chef Anthony’s take on a Canadian fast food dish with French fries, duck confit, cheese curds, and specialty gravy.

Pro tip

  • Eat it while it’s hot, no one likes cold fries.
  • One of the few places on the Las Vegas Strip for beer lovers to try all sorts of beers.
  • Other craft beer centric place on the Strip to try: Todd English P.U.B. at CityCenter, Holsteins (by the same people as Public House) at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay, and The Pub at Monte Carlo.
  • Really, really love beer? If you don’t mind the drive and/or cab ride, try Aces and Ales, a craft beer bar disguised as a dive, owned by heavy metal guitarist Keri Kelli. This bar and restaurant is about seven miles east of the Strip. 3740 South Nellis Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89121.
