1st Annual Crustacean Food Fair

For the first time, and hopefully not the last, CHAYA Downtown in Los Angeles, CA is offering a Crustacean Food Fair[available for dinner only] for the month of October from the 1st to the 28th. Courtesy of Executive Chef Atsushi Kenjo, CHAYA Downtown patrons have the opportunity to enjoy an extensive menu dedicated to the almighty crustacean.

Chef Kenjo’s seafood menu highlights crustaceans and other delicious sea creatures from shrimp, crab, and lobster to scallop, sea bass, and snapper. Starters on the menu include a variety of options from the crowd pleasing Seafood Platter [ available in small and large orders ] of shrimp cocktail, half shell oyster, and scallop ceviche to the dungeness crab and rock shrimp dumpling served with a ginger soy balsamic or the Half Main Lobster Sushi – five varieties of nigiri sushi and rolls with lobster miso soup.

Entrées available include the Blue Crab Pilaf and Tai Snapper with thai spiced lemongrass‐lime leaf coconut sauce; the Half Main Lobster and Jidori Chicken Hot Pot with porcini mushrooms, cipollini onion, baby carrots, and brussels sprouts; and the Pan Roasted Langoustine Ojja [reminiscent of a paella ]with shrimp, scallop, clam, mussel, eggs, and chorizo.

Although there are no curious crustacean desserts, CHAYA Downtown does offer up a number of sweets to tickle your fancy as well as specialty cocktails to wet your palette. If seafood doesn’t happen to be up your alley, CHAYA Downtown is also offering a new bar menu after 7pm and happy hour from 4-7 pm.  525 S. Flower Street, Los Angeles, CA 90071
