Inspite of the intense summer heat, the excitement of the 3rd Annual LA Street Food Festival was not to be missed. Hosting over 100 street food vendors at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, patrons ate until they could eat no more.
Showcasing the diverse culinary food scene available in Los Angeles, the LA Street Food Festival presented a wide variety of street foods from restaurants, vendors, food trucks, carts, and more. Offering Dog Haus’ Soo Cali Dog and Cheeseburger slider to Tiara cafe’s cheese potato ball with pork belly to Peking duck truck’s Duck Sliders. Having a taste of LA has never been made easier. Other vendors also contributing to the mountain of nomnoms available are The Grilled Cheese Truck, the O.G. – Kogi Truck, old school vendors like Mariscos Jalisco and World Empanadas, Seoul Sausage, Mexicali Taco & Co., Waffles de Liege, and Nonna’s Kitchenette to name a few.
After meandering through the event, guests found themselves at the much needed and delicious “Ice Cream Social.” Hosting a wide range of dessert options, event patrons found themselves surrounded by vendors like Mother Moo Creamery, Astro’s Donuts, Coolhaus, Short Cake, Sweet Wheels, and the Churro Borough of Los Angeles to name a few. Some of the treats served up, helping you forget about the heat, were Sweet Wheels’ Beignets, Ice Ice Shavie’s blueberry shaved ice, Cool Haus’ fried chicken and waffles ice cream, Short Cake’s Organic coffee and sweet tea, Longboards ice cream bars such as the cookies and cream, frozen banana with dark chocolate and ruffles chips, and strawberry ice cream with peanuts, as well as Sweet Lucies’ mint strawberry lemonade ice cream.
In addition to all the eating, judges were onsite awarding participating vendors with numerous awards and directing you to notable and tasty food. Awards and winners included Best in Show won by La Guerrerense’s Sea Snail Tostada, Best of the Chefs won by Chef Bryant Ng of Spice Table with Spicy Wings, Best Original Showmanship won by Fred Eric of Tiara Café with the cheese potato ball with pork belly, The Sweet Tooth won by Sweet Wheels’ Beignets, and The People’s Choice Award won by Dog Haus’ Soo Cali Dog.
