New chef and menu at Lexington Social House

Lexington Social House in Hollywood welcomes their new chef, Jared Simons, to the team as well as his new spring menu. Joining Lexington Social House from Violet and Bardot, Chef Simons brings his classic American fare with a subtle twist focusing on the usage of products from small farms, minimally processed, and union/American made.

Eat

Chef Simons’ menu includes a variety of appetizers such as the Jidori Chicken Liver Toast with pickled shallots, on housemade raisin bread, and served with a parsley slaw to a Little Gem Salad with little gem lettuce, a delicate smoked blue cheese vinigrette, grapes, toasted hazelnuts, chives, and radish.

For his entrees, Chef Jared made his twist on the fried chicken, a Lexington favorite, with Fried Jidori Chicken – both white and dark meat, mashed potatoes, bacon braised greens, and a mustard sauce to the Berkshire Pork Chop “saltimbocca” [meaning jump in the mouth] with heirloom pork, creamy grits, sage, procuitto, and a red eye gravy which consists of, as chef Jared tells us,”a pork reduction hit with some coffee.” For dessert, Chef Jared also offers his twist on a American classic such as his pineapple upside down cake with salted caramel ice cream or his Buttermilk Panna Cotta made with star anise and cardamom served with bruleed mission figs and fig jam.

Drink

Complementing Chef Jared’s new spring menu, is bar manager Kyle Ackley‘s housemade and seasonal specialty cocktail menu. The cocktail menu ranges from the Mule Kick (Kyle’s variation of the moscow mule) – Gordon’s gin, pickled chili liquid, lime juice, ginger syrup, and club soda to the Polyynesian- Hawaiian pizza inspired with peligroso blanco tequila, pinapple gum syrup, lime juice, peychaud bitters, basil, cayenne, and crispy prosciutto to the Chai Moon – Mooonshine clear whiskey, christy’s chair syrup, angostura bitters, islay scotch rinse, and all spice berries for garnish. 1718 Vine St., Hollywood, CA 90027. 323-461-1700.
