21st Amendment and Magnolia fight the drizzle, presenting 'Strong Beer Month'

February 1 marks the start of the 11th Annual ‘Strong Beer Month’, presented by 21st Amendment Brewery and Magnolia Pub and Brewery. The concept is simple: serve strong beers. A ticket stub to the month long event will list all twelves beers – as you move between the two pubs, your ticket will be marked according to the beers you’ve already had. Each brewery has produced six strong beers with 21st Amendment boasting six beers over 8.5% ABV. A commemorative glass will be given away as a free gift after the completion of all 12 beers (not all at the same time, of course).

21st Amendment’s beer list includes: Triple Crisis – Triple IPA (11.0% abv), Lord & Master – Strong English blonde (8.3% abv), Red Giant – Imperial Red Ale (13.0 abv), Oaked Drunken Monk – Dark Abbey Ale (9.5% abv), Two Lane Blacktop – Imperial Black IPA (9.8% abv), and Hendrik’s – Imperial Stout (9.5% abv). 563 2nd St., San Francisco, CA 94107. 415-369-0900.

Magnolia Pub and Brewery’s beer list features: Old Thunderpussy – Barleywine (11.9% abv), Smokestack Lighting – Imperial Stout (10.7% abv), Pride of Branthill – Imperial ESB (8.9% abv), Punch You in the Eye – Strong Rye Ale (8.0% abv), Promised Land – Imperial IPA (11.5% abv), Tweezer Triple – Abbey Tripel (10.7% abv). 1398 Haight St., San Francisco, CA 94117. 415-864-7468.
