One bottle of LOUIS XIII Le Jeroboam No 13 to be made available in the U.S.

One of the 100 handmade, “largest of its kind crystal decanter,” bottles of LOUIS XIII Le Jeroboam Cognac will be made available to the U.S. The 3-liter bottle is said to have more than 200 aromas and is made of 1,200 eaux-de-vie aged up to 100 years. Bottle number 13 is currently up for auction at charitybuzz.com with proceeds benefiting The Ruby Peck Foundation for Children‘s Education. The current bid is $16,000, auction ends December 19 at 12 PM PST.

Haven Gastropub +Brewery opens second location in Pasadena

Debuting in Orange, CA in 2009, Haven Gastropub was well received by OC Weekly and the Orange County Register. Drinks from pre-Prohibition cocktails and a curated global wine and beer list of over 100+ bottles, 52 taps, four of the brewery’s own special beers, four cask ales, and eight wine varietals served by the keg complimented chef Greg Daniels’ gourmet comfort foods. Pizza Port Carlsbad’s Strong Ale Festival, Beer Chicks go to Ladyface Ale

beer iconGreat American Beer Festival reigning champion, Pizza Port Carlsbad is hosting “The 15th Strong Ale Festival,” where all 80 beers being poured will be over 8% ABV. The two day festival will go from 4 PM – 11 PM on Friday, December 2 and from 11 AM – 11 PM on Saturday, December 3. The event will also debut the 15th Anniversary Ale blended from beers made at all four Pizza Port locations. The admission of $30 includes tasting glass with eight taster tickets for four oz. pours. The authors of The Naked Pint-An Unadulterated Guide to Craft Beer will be featured for the “Ladies at Ladyface” event. The topic this month is holiday beers and Ladyface’s newest winter seasonal. Pay what you want at Wirtshaus

L.A.’s German restaurant Wirtshaus introduces “Give Back Mondays” with a “Pay What It’s Worth” event on December 5 from 6 PM – 10 PM. Dinner will include an appetizer of sauerkraut soup followed by pretzel schnitzel with mashed potatoes, green salad with a mustard vinaigrette and a soft drink. Details on L.A.’s craft beer garden winter event, Karl Strauss’ ugly sweater party

Statement from the website: ColLAboration event has to be postponed due to utility outages caused by the wind storms. ColLAboration Winterfest, L.A.’s mobile craft beer garden is having their last event for the year on Saturday December 3 from 12 PM – 5 PM at Golden Road Brewing in Atwater Village. Winterfest will feature a selection of holiday beers including two special releases from Golden Road Brewing. Limited edition steins will be available for $15, admission ticket not required if you’ve already purchased a glass from previous events.
