Why are we featuring a rice dish at a noodle house? Because Pork Belly Bowl will get you filled up big time – in a good way, of course. A bowl of sliced pork belly on white rice with green onions and a sprinkle of ginger from Monta Japanese Noodle House off the Strip in Las Vegas is just under six George Washington’s.
If you think Valentine’s Day will leave a bitter flavor in your mouth this year, be sure to celebrate it’s passing with more bitterness at the Library Alehouse in Santa Monica, where they will be showcasing bitter beers from the L.A. and O.C. area in what they call “HopHead Heaven“. From February 15 – 26, Library Alehouse will be providing their patrons with 15 rotating taps, covering 40 beers, from breweries in Los Angeles, Agoura Hills, Long Beach and Orange County, including: IPA’s, DIPA’s, “Black” IPA’s, Extra Pales, Imperial Reds and Belgian IPA’s.
Want to celebrate the Super Bowl like a true football foodie (if there is such a thing)? Head to The Deck at the Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach on Sunday, February 5, to enjoy their once a year, “Challengers’ Fare“, which will feature Lobster Rolls in commemoration of the New England Patriots and New York Style Hot Dogs in honor of the New York Giants. Guests can enjoy some other football specialties like the Kobe beef and braised pork sliders or the chef’s special recipe wings.
Already have plans for the big game? Visit The Deck the following Sunday from 10 PM – 3 PM for “Gospel Sunday Brunch“, where you will dine on Praline French Toast and Country Fried Steak and Eggs while relaxing in front of an elegant beach setting.
If Sunday’s are your day of rest, then get over hump-day by joining local singer Kurt Hunter for “Tunes and Talent“. If you’re willing to “Sing for Dinner”, your voice might earn you a meal at The Deck, on the house. “Tunes and Talent” is on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Or if you’ve already put in a long week at work, join The Deck from opening until three on Fridays, where all drinks are doubles. 647 South Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. 949-281-5709.
