Join Taste of the Nation Los Angeles on Sunday, June 10th from 1-4pm at The Lot in West Hollywood in its fight against childhood hunger. Participating in this event are some of LA’s best including: Black Market, Blue Cow Kitchen & Bar, Border Grill Restaurants and Truck, Campanile, CHAYA Restaurant Group, Church & State, Lukshon, Michael’s, Mo-Chica and Picca, and Night + Market to name a few.  WP24 at the Ritz Carlton at L.A. Live has launched its new spring programs for Angelenos to enjoy. From 5PM – 7PM daily, guests can enjoy the “Four for $24” in the WP24 lounge. Offering a rotating tasting menu of WP24’s dim sum style dishes,  Chef John Lechleidner offers items such as the Peking Duck Roll with House Special Hoisin Glaze, Pork Belly Bao Bun with Chinese Honey-Garlic Glaze, Chicken “Dan Dan” Dumplings with Ground Peanuts and Chili, and the Shrimp & Lobster Spring Roll with 10 Spice Honey dipping sauce for $24.

Also newly available is an elevated dim sum style dessert cart offered Monday-Saturday from 5 p.m. until close created by Pastry Chef Sally Camacho.  Chef Sally will showcase seasonal sweets including Cashew Crunch Chocolate Cremeux Verrine, market fresh fruit tarts, the Passion Fruit Vacherin Verrine with passion fruit curd, gingersnap crumbs, compressed pineapple, and meringue kisses;  and of course her signature, Ovaltine Dipped in Caramelia Chocolate. Santa Monica Gets a Taste of NYC with West 4th and Jane

West 4th and Jane co-owner, Steve Liebermann noticed something that Los Angeles was missing.  He noted that L.A. had either high-end or dive bars, there wasn’t anything in between.  Liebermann wanted a type of place that creates a “friendly atmosphere for visitors, locals, and fellow New Yorkers to gather together and enjoy our hand-picked beers or a glass of wine and a delicious meal just blocks from the beach.” He did just that and West 4th and Jane has become a staple of the Santa Monica food scene for the past three years. Taste of Spring with David LeFevre, Ben Ford and Neal Fraser

Teaming up with GrowingGreat.org, Chef David LeFevre of M.B. Post, Chef Ben Ford of Ford’s Filling Station, and Chef Neal Fraser of The Strand House are hosting the first Taste of Spring on Saturday, May 19th in a private home in Manhattan Beach. Guests will experience live cooking demonstrations, wine and beer tastings, and local, health dishes as well as an online auction, raffle, live music and receive swag bags filled with food samples, seeds, and Chef’s detailed recipes. The evening’s menu features Duck confit salad with lentils, pomegranate, apricot, and frisee with cava maple mustard vinaigrette, Seared tuna mini tacos with jicama, mango and a smoked chile vinaigrette, and Gluten-free cakes (donated by Eat Cake Cafe) with coffee service to name a few. Tickets are $200 per person and very limited. All proceeds will go to GrowingGreat and its students.

Saber Off at the 2012 Vegas Uncork’d

The 6th annual Bon Appetit Vegas Uncork’d food festival kicked off Thursday, May 10th with a pop, a crash, and a splash outside Serendipity 3 at Caesars Palace. To start the opening ceremony, Wolfgang Puck, the man who laid the foundation for the Las Vegas food scene, sabered bottles of Mionetto Prosecco on to the sidewalk in front of Caesar’s Palace. The line-up of chefs participating in this years Vegas Uncork’d featured only the best and brightest of the American dining scene.
