American Airlines ‘capitalizes’ on new legislation

American Airlines has announced it will launch a new nonstop service between Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on June 14, 2012 (tickets available to purchase starting March 4). Under the new Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization bill, non-stop flights will be able to land in DC directly from LA – a flight plan which was previously prohibited. The new service will run simultaneously with American’s 150 daily flights at LAX, three of which are daily round-trip flights between LAX and Washington Dulles International Airport in the greater DC area.
