Orange County Restaurant Week launching with food event

Orange County is not all about housewives, Disneyland and lifted trucks; they have restaurants too. Orange County Restaurant Week goes from February 26 through March 3. To celebrate the kick-off, OC Restaurant Association is hosting a launch party on Saturday, February 25 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Newport Beach Lexus. Sample size dishes will be cooked up by 17 local restaurants, plus wines from 15 wineries and beers from SoCal Brewery and Stella. Tickets still available for Food Network’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival

The 2012 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival officially kicks-off next week and tickets are still available. Presented by Food & Wine, there will be multiple events from February 23 through the 26. Tickets to each event are sold separately, check them out here. An “extraordinary line up of chefs, winemakers, spirit producers, and culinary talent,” including Christina Tosi, Andrew Zimmern, Anne Burrell, Paula Deen, Bobby Flay, Masaharu Morimoto and more will be present.

Le Cirque of Manhattan coming to a city near you with a three course traveling dinner series

Since the establishment of the Certified Cicerone Program four years ago, a certification exam acknowledging individuals working in the beer industry, only four people have passed the final level of the three level certification process. One of which is Nicole Erny, the newest Master Cicerone, who is also the first woman and the youngest person to ever pass this extensive exam. The test is a two day process with written and oral questions regarding styles of beer, the brewing process, draft systems, and beer and food pairings.
